St. George's Community Garden

Vicki Karsten is the liaison between our St George's Episcopal church and the  community garden,

"We've had our community garden for about 15 years. We've been very blessed the last three years to be working with the International Rescue committee and the new Roots gardeners who are Refugee gardeners and it's a special program we actually at this time have 11 gardeners and their families 10 of them are Ukrainian refugees and one is a Syrian.

They are exceptional gardeners, and our garden gets more beautiful every single year.

Amina Hassoun is a coordinator of the New Roots program for the International

Rescue Committee in Sacramento.

"We're here in one of our gardens at the St George's church. The focus of our program is to improve food security in the community, mostly through Community Gardening programs, through education, and through agricultural training."

St. George's Social Media

Why does a church community need social media? According to the social media experts, our social media help us inspire, inform, and invite.

Our rector Fr. Ray in his short videos speaks the words of inspiration for our daily life.

We publish announcements and prayer requests of our members on Facebook.

And we give both our members and visitors see something behind-the-scenes, something you normally wouldn't be able to see if you are our online member or if you only stay at the church building for a duration of the service.

You can learn a lot about St. George's life and special events if you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube. Let us know which of these media you like best!
